Keynetics is Idaho's Innovative Company of the Year

What can we say? Team Keynetics rocks. They are innovators. They create new products out of sheer brainpower and technological know-how. They're not afraid to be bold -- to go where others have never gone before. It's fun to work for them.

In case you didn't hear, Keynetics was recognized as the Innovative Company of the Year at the 2008 Innovation Awards sponsored by Stoel Rives LLC, the Idaho Business Review and Cooper Norman CPAs. Dr. Timothy Barber, chief scientist at Keynetics, was named the Innovator of the Year, beating out Frank VanderSloot, President and CEO of Melaleuca, and Bruce J. Bradley, CEO of Microbial-Vac Systems, Inc.

We sent out the news on PR newswire on Thursday, and by yesterday afternoon, the news on Keynetics had been reported on more than 95 news outlets nationwide. It's great PR for them, of course, that's why we nominated them.

Here's the report from Yahoo Financial

Here's the version reported by the Idaho Business Review

Congrats to Keynetics. Hope they enjoyed the champagne -- and the recognition!

New Trails, New Yurt, New Lodge all part of the Ketchum/Sun Valley Nordic experience

The new Sun Valley Nordic Center

Galena Lodge

The Blaine County Recreation District, U.S. Forest Service and Sun Valley Company are gearing up in a big way for the 2008-2009 Nordic skiing season, with some new goodies and more than 260 kilometers (160 miles) of groomed trails for all abilities.

The unique private-public partnership in the Wood River Valley gives skiers a wonderful array of Nordic skiing experiences, including immaculately groomed fast skating lanes and traditional set track, forested mountain trails and open meadow trails bordered by quaking aspen, and beautiful indoor facilities with food and beverage at Galena Lodge and Sun Valley Nordic Center.
So many Ks, so little time. The Wood River Valley has one of the largest Nordic trail systems in North America. Plenty of room to stretch your legs. Here’s how it breaks down:
· Galena Lodge Trails – 56K
· North Valley Trails - 120K
· Sun Valley Resort Trails – 40K
· Quigley Family Park – 10K
· Wood River Trail – 37K
Total: 263K

New this year is the Quigley Family Park directly east of Hailey, a separate 10K trail system geared toward families and kids. There are snowshoe and dog trails available.

Trail fees are reasonable: Daily trail fees are $16 to $17 for adults, and discounted tickets are available for kids and seniors. New kid policy: Kids 12 and under can ski free on all North Valley trails managed by the Blaine County Recreation District.

Save the date: The 34th running of the popular Boulder Mountain Tour will occur on Feb. 7. Premier Resorts is offering discounted lodging packages just for the race. All Nordic events for the winter of 2008/2009 in the Ketchum/Sun Valley area are now posted on the Ketchum/Sun Valley Chamber & Visitors Bureau web site.

Sun Valley’s Nordic Center has a new home. A brand new 58,000-square-foot stately lodge has replaced the old warming hut. Locker rooms are now available for Nordic skiers, plus a huge dining area, a lounge, rental shop and an indoor driving range for golf fanatics.

Book early to reserve one of three yurts at Galena Lodge: Galena added the Star’s Perch Yurt to its lineup this year. There is the more intimate Honeymoon Yurt, tucked into the trees for privacy, which sleeps up to four people, and the Star’s Perch Yurt and Senate View Yurt sleep 8 apiece. At $145 a night for the larger yurts, it works out to $18 per person. Now that’s a deal. You can cook for yourself, or the Galena staff will cook for you and deliver! Contact Galena Lodge by email or phone, 726-4010.

Ski and Stay lodging specials: Sun Valley Resort has a one-night lodging/trail fee/lesson package and a two-night lodging/trail fee/lesson package special. The Ketchum/Sun Valley Chamber & Visitors Bureau also has Nordic-lodging specials this winter, mentioned above.
